How to Screen Record on iPhone and iPad
Screen recording on an iPhone is easy and can be done without the use of any third-party apps. To begin a screen recording on an iPhone you first must open the control center. To open the control center, simply swipe down from the top of your phone’s screen.
Once the control center is open, you will need to find the screen record button. The gray concentric circles on the bottom of the menu. Hitting that button will trigger the screen recording. A three-second timer will countdown and the screen recording will begin.
After you have finished recording your screen, you can end the recording by opening the control center menu and pressing the red screen record button. Your recording will be saved in your iPhone or iPad videos for easy access.
How to Screen Record on Android
As long as you are using Android 11 or newer, your Android device has a built-in screen recorder that is easy to use to create videos of the content on your screen. Older devices may require a third-party app to capture a screen recording.
To capture a screen recording on an Android device, start by swiping down on the notification shade at the top of your screen. This will open the quick setting options on your Android device. Once your quick setting menu is open, look for the screen recording button which features an image of a camcorder in a frame.
When you hit that button, you will be prompted with a menu of screen recorder options. Choose if you would like your video to capture your device’s sounds, your device's sounds, and your mic, or no sound at all. When you have your preferred option chosen, you can hit the button on the bottom right that says, “Start Recording”.
You will receive a three-second countdown before the recording begins and the screen recording toolbar pops on the screen. The toolbar allows you to pause or stop your recording. Certain Android devices will allow you to draw on the screen to add notes and highlights as well as turn on your front-facing camera to add voice-over to your video.
When you are finished, press the stop button and your video will automatically be saved to your device’s video storage.
How to Screen Record on Windows
Windows PCs use a program called a Snipping Tool that allows users to capture pictures and video recordings of their screens. To open the Snipping Tool in Windows, start by opening the start menu.
